Two safety layers, and a child lock on the hot tap

On the four models that dispense hot water, the catalogue states a two-layer safety system guarding against abnormal overheating, plus a child lock on the hot tap to keep children out of trouble. ME314-T is the one model that pours only ambient and cold water, so it has neither, and it is the only one with a stated 304 stainless water tank.

Temperature and capacity

Hot to 90 degrees, cold down to 10

The four models with hot water are rated at 90 degrees Celsius and above, and every model here cools to 10 degrees or below. Hot tanks run 0.8 to 1.1 litres and cold tanks 2.8 to 3.2 litres, while ME314-T carries a single 3 litre tank. Two top loaders, ME509-T and ME602-T, add a cabinet below of 13 and 17 litres.

Frequently asked questions

Top loading or bottom loading, what is the difference
It comes down to where the bottle sits. Top loaders take the bottle inverted on top of the unit, which makes swapping it simple and costs less. There are three: ME314-T · ME509-T · ME602-T, at THB 5,690 to 6,790.-. Bottom loaders hold the bottle inside the cabinet, so you never lift it overhead, and they look tidier because the bottle is out of sight. There are two: ME530-B · ME607-B, at THB 8,900 and 9,900.-. Both bottom loaders also have a warning light for when the bottle runs dry, which the top loaders do not list.
Why does ME314-T cost the same as ME509-T with no hot water
Because they are different things. ME314-T pours ambient and cold water only, with no hot tap. Its selling point is the slim body, the narrowest here at 24.7 cm wide, and it is the only model the catalogue states has a 304 stainless, rust-free water tank, with push-to-pour taps. ME509-T costs the same but adds 420 W hot water, the two-layer safety system, a child lock and a 13 litre cabinet. If your household makes coffee or warms milk, look at ME509-T. If space matters more and you never need hot water, ME314-T fits better.
The price excludes the bottle, so what else do I need
Every model here has a line printed under the price stating the sale price does not include the water bottle. You get the unit only, and the bottled water comes from your own supplier or a local delivery service. There is no plumbing to do, since these run on a bottle: plug it in and it works. The catalogue does not state which bottle sizes fit, or how much clearance to leave from the wall, so ask a dealer or a service centre first, on 02-493-6565.
How long is the warranty, and can I order ME602-T now
Every model here states a one year product warranty and a five year compressor warranty. ME602-T carries a Coming Soon badge in the catalogue, meaning it was not yet on sale when the book went to print, so check availability with sales. ME607-B carries a NEW ARRIVAL badge and is the newest model in the range. If something goes wrong, do not open the unit yourself. MEX has service centres nationwide on 02-493-6565.
