How do the two differ, which should I take
VM601 is the stronger one: 22 kPa or 150AW across three power levels, up to 65 minutes of run, a 28.8 volt 8-cell pack, four-layer cyclone filtering, 280 square metres of cleaning area, and it stands up on its own without leaning on a wall, at THB 13,900.-. VS505 is the 2-in-1 that vacuums and mops, with a water tank and mop pad in the box, 17 kPa or 120AW, up to 40 minutes, a 21.6 volt battery that lifts out to charge anywhere, a 90 degree bend for reaching under furniture, and a lighter 3 kg body, at THB 9,900.-
How long does the battery really last, how long to charge
The catalogue states up to 65 minutes on VM601 and up to 40 on VS505, and notes that those figures are measured on the standard brush head, not the motorised one. Use the motorised head, or the highest power setting, and the time comes down, as it does on any cordless machine. Charging takes 4 to 5 hours on both, and the catalogue notes it depends on how the machine is used and on the age of the battery. VM601 charges on its dock; the VS505 battery comes out to charge.
What tools come in the box
Seven with each model, six of them the same: a motorised dust mite brush, a soft brush, a wide upholstery head for cushions and sofas, a narrow crevice head, a universal joint and a flexible hose. The seventh is where they part. VM601 adds a brush for pet hair on clothing, and VS505 adds a water tank with a mop pad, which is what lets it mop from the same machine.
How long is the warranty, how do I look after it
The catalogue states a two year warranty on both models. The bin holds 0.45 litres on VM601 and 0.4 on VS505, and empties as you would expect. The catalogue does not give a method for washing the filter, or how often to replace it, so go by the manual that comes with the machine. Call us either way.
