One unbroken sheet of glass, and a number that means something
The front is a single piece with no seam, so the only thing to look at is the digital pad. Set it anywhere from 32 to 48 °C and read the number back, instead of guessing from where a dial points.
The whole unit goes flat, and the LED is the only thing that lights
Idle, CRAVE is one flat panel in a single colour. Switch it on and the LED display comes up with the setting you chose — the only point of light on the machine. Inside, the water side and the electrical side are built as separate modules.
Square, plain, and the only one that comes in titanium
A soft-cornered rectangle with nothing on the front but the control. What sells this series is the finish — titanium is hard to find on an instant water heater, and it lines up with stainless taps and rails without a compromise.
The only series here that comes in gold and silver bronze
CODE took a Demark Design Excellence Award in 2013. A bathroom built around bronze or gold taps normally has to settle for a white or black heater because nothing else exists. This series answers that directly.
The only series with two-tone colour, and no square edges
Where the rest of the range runs flat and square, COCO is small and rounded — it sits on the wall without taking a small bathroom over. It is also the only series that pairs two colours, by variant and wattage.
A copper heater tank the water spirals through before it leaves
The heater tank is the part that decides how long a water heater lasts in a house. Water coming in does not run straight past the element and out again — it spirals through a copper tank, so it stays in contact with the heat for longer, and copper moves that heat into the water rather than holding it. That is the part MEX warrants for five years, against two years on the rest of the unit.
A 15 milliamp leak and the power is gone in a tenth of a second
Every MEX multi-point water heater carries an ELCB that watches the current going in against the current coming back. The moment 15 milliamps goes missing it drops the supply within 0.1 seconds, faster than you would feel anything. Behind it a safety thermostat cuts the machine out at once if the water ever runs abnormally hot.
TÜV SÜD signs off every model, to IEC standard
TÜV SÜD is an independent testing and certification body, and all three MEX multi-point models carry its mark against IEC standard — the international rulebook for electrical appliance safety. In Thailand the same units are certified to TIS 1693-2547 and have passed the efficiency test set by EGAT and the Ministry of Energy that earns the number 5 energy label. Behind all of it, two years on the unit and five on the heater tank.
The control and electrical side, built clear of the heater tank
CENTRI 6R builds the control and electrical systems as an independent module, kept clearly separate from the heater tank module — the catalogue states it is done for maximum safety. It is also why this is the slimmest body in the range at 24 x 8.5 x 19 cm. Inside, a Hall Effect Sensor — a MEX technology — holds the temperature, and the face is touch control: MIN, MED, MAX from a fingertip.
A sensor of the type used in industrial machines
CUBE 8000R and CUBE 6000R read the water with a Turbine Flow Sensor — a sensor that picks up the circulation of the water finely and accurately to signal the machine, of the type fitted to industrial equipment. Every model in the category starts at 0.2 bar of inlet pressure and 3.5 litres a minute. CENTRI uses a Hall Effect Sensor instead, not this one.
